LogMeIn Announces New Conference Room Solution, GoToRoom; Hardware Partnership with Polycom

Mar 14, 2019

BOSTON, March 14, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- LogMeIn, Inc. (NASDAQ:LOGM) today announced a new huddle and conference room solution, GoToRoom. The company is also announcing a new hardware partnership with Polycom, now part of Plantronics. The new room system includes equipment packages to meet the needs of huddle rooms and medium-sized meeting spaces.

With the growing trend of remote employees and a more globally dispersed workforce, it’s rare that everyone is in the same place at the same time. When organizations have not enabled employees within the office to collaborate effectively with remote teams or the conference room technology doesn’t work, meeting time is wasted, people get frustrated, and productivity wanes.

GoToRoom was created to solve these problems and provide organizations with a simple, all-in-one solution that easily outfits huddle rooms and medium sized conference rooms with all the hardware needed to host or attend high quality video meetings through GoToMeeting, all without the need for time-consuming setup or constant IT intervention. With multiple package options, businesses are able to select the system that meets their needs and budget.

“GoToRoom is an incredibly powerful and robust room solution that is more affordable than others in the market today. While very feature-rich, it’s also simple to set up and use, and is backed by a trusted and established global UCC company,” said Mark Strassman, SVP and General Manager, Unified Communications & Collaboration at LogMeIn. “In just minutes, companies can go from unboxing their equipment to their first conference room video meeting. Through our relationship with Polycom, our customers are getting top-of-the-line hardware coupled with a brand-new meeting space optimized GoToMeeting user interface to host engaging meetings and connect with colleagues and partners around the globe.”

With multiple options to choose from, customers are able to customize to their needs:

  • Huddle Room, perfect for 2-6 people: includes an all-in-one speaker/microphone/camera combination (Polycom Studio), computing device (Intel NUC), and touch panel (Mimo Vue).
  • Medium Size Conference Room, perfect for 6-10 people: includes an all-in-one speaker/microphone/phone system (Polycom Trio 8500), a camera (Polycom Eagle Eye IV), a computing device (Intel NUC), and touch panel (Mimo Vue). Customers with rooms seating 10-12 people can also purchase additional extension microphones.

“It’s time small to mid-sized conference rooms got an upgrade,” said Laura Marx, Vice President, Global Alliance and Partner Marketing, Plantronics. “Our Polycom Trio and Polycom Studio are designed to deliver the ultimate, and easy to manage, in-room voice and video experiences for GoToRoom users.”

GoToRoom allows for one click meetings by integrating with an entire business email environment. An admin can sync their company’s Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office 365 or Google Calendar to allow employees to book a GoToRoom equipped space ahead of time and start a meeting with just one click once they walk in.

GoToRoom users can also leverage a range of Logitech conferencecams to outfit meeting rooms of any size, such as Logitech MeetUp, an all-in-one plug-and-play device designed specifically for small conference rooms and huddle rooms, and Logitech Rally, a premium, modular conferencecam solution to equip mid-sized and large meeting spaces.

In addition to GoToRoom, LogMeIn’s UCC portfolio also offers InRoom Link, which allows users with existing supported video conferencing systems to quickly connect to GoToMeeting for easy in-room collaboration. For meetings scheduled with Polycom Group Series or Debut Systems, meeting participants can now join with just one click.
